Advisory Redistricting Commission Holds Special Saturday Meeting

WHAT:
The County of Santa Clara County Advisory Redistricting Commission is holding a Community Forum on Saturday, October 2 at 2 p.m., for the public to learn about the County’s redistricting process and how to redraw Supervisorial district lines. People can get information on redistricting laws, find out what a community of interest is, and learn how to draw and submit their own district maps. There will also be a question-and-answer session specific to the redistricting process.

People who are unable to attend the forum can submit a community of interest form, draw a map and get more information at www.sccgov.org/2021redistricting/COI.

WHEN:
Saturday, October 2, at 2 p.m.

WHERE:
Zoom Meeting at https://sccgov-org.zoom.us/j/92815965499 or by phone at (669) 900-6833, ID 92815965499

WHY:
Every 10 years, the County of Santa Clara draws new supervisorial district lines based on the updated Census data. For new maps to be drawn that reflect the community, the County needs to hear from people about where lines should be drawn to keep neighborhoods or groups with shared interests together for greater representation on the Board of Supervisors.
