Board of Supervisors to Adopt Budget for Fiscal Year 2022-23 at Budget Hearing Sessions Starting June 13
Recommended Budget includes safety net services, healthcare system and preserving community services as priorities for coming fiscal year
SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CALIF.-- At budget hearing sessions beginning June 13, the County of Santa Clara Board of Supervisors will review and discuss County Executive Jeffrey V. Smith’s Recommended Budget for Fiscal Year 2022-23, which is available for review in the County’s Open Data Portal.
“We will continue to play a critical role in the pandemic response in the coming fiscal year but must also focus our attention on safety net services for our community, as well as other priorities,” said County Executive Jeffrey V. Smith, M.D., J.D. “Maintaining a structurally balanced budget, expanding the healthcare system to fit the community's need, maintaining our service infrastructure, and preserving core community services are also wide-ranging priorities supported by the Recommended Budget.”
The Recommended Budget provides the County with a responsible spending plan that is structurally balanced within the resources available. It also provides a foundation to conduct budget hearing sessions that will conclude on June 16 when the Board makes final decisions about the funding priorities and levels for County services beginning July 1, with adoption of the FY 2022-23 budget.

The sessions will be livestreamed through the County website and YouTube at SCCgov chambers. Public comment instructions and meeting details are available on the website.
BUDGET HEARING SCHEDULE
The sessions are an opportunity for the public to engage and comment on the planned allocation of resources before the Board of Supervisors approves a final budget on June 16. Sessions are scheduled for June 13, 14, and 16, at 1:30 p.m., and June 14 at 6:30 p.m., if an evening session is necessary.
