Influenza Activity Increasing in Santa Clara County
One additional death reported to the State
WHAT: With widespread flu activity in Santa Clara County, the Public Health Department has reported to the California Department of Public Health another death of a Santa Clara County resident. Along with the Emergency Medical Services Agency, the Public Health Department would like to provide information about the local situation and direction for the public so they can protect their health.
WHEN: Wednesday, January 10, 2018 from 12 noon to 1 pm
WHERE: Outside Santa Clara Valley Medical Center’s Emergency Department
751 South Bascom Avenue, San Jose
WHY: To support efforts to limit the spread of disease and the appropriate use of local medical resources, information will be provided about:
- Those most at-risk for medical complications
- Who should/should not go to an emergency department
- EMS Agency call volume increase, ambulance response and transports
- What each of us can do to limit the spread of disease
