County of Santa Clara Board of Supervisors Appoints Tiffany Lennear as Clerk of the Board of Supervisors

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CALIF.— The County of Santa Clara Board of Supervisors appointed Tiffany Lennear as the new Clerk of the Board of Supervisors. Ms. Lennear, a public servant for more than a decade who served as Acting Clerk of the Board, started her new role on January 10, 2022.

“Tiffany Lennear has done an outstanding job as Acting Clerk of the Board, and we are thrilled to be able to remove ‘acting’ from her title to make it official,” said Mike Wasserman, President of the County of Santa Clara Board of Supervisors.

As Clerk of the Board of Supervisors, Ms. Lennear oversees four divisions, including Board Operations, Assessment Appeals, Records Management, and Administrative Services, as well as the supervision of 46 employees and a $12.5 million budget. She is responsible for ensuring transparency to the public through support of meeting bodies and efficient recordkeeping, which includes attendance at all regular and special meetings of the Board of Supervisors, Assessment Appeals Boards, and 40 advisory boards, committees, commissions, and authorities. In addition to providing administrative support to the Board of Supervisors, Ms. Lennear’s office helps to resolve disputes regarding property tax assessments and matters of historical record.

Before this role, Ms. Lennear was the County Assistant Clerk of the Board. She also previously worked as Chief Assistant Clerk of the Board for the County of Contra Costa. Her professional background includes roles as Faculty Support Unit Manager for the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law and as an Operations Manager for AT&T Internet Services Division.

Ms. Lennear holds associate degrees in Business Administration and Social and Behavioral Science from Merritt College, a Bachelor of Arts in Management from Saint Mary’s College of California, and a Master of Public Administration from Golden Gate University.
