County of Santa Clara Hosts Weekly On-Site Vendor Registration

Learn about Contracting Opportunities with the County

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA. – In an effort to engage local businesses and expand the pool of vendors for ongoing solicitations, the County of Santa Clara will hold a weekly On-Site Vendor Registration Event. The first workshop where vendors can drop in to register will be on Wednesday, April 4, 2018, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., on the first floor of the Procurement Department headquarters, at 2310 North First Street, San Jose.

The Procurement Department conducts solicitations for a variety of commodities and services, including: computer hardware and software, software maintenance and support, medical and surgical equipment and accessories, medical equipment maintenance, office furniture, furniture installation, moving services, building construction and repair services, advertising, environmental management, electrical services and janitorial services.

The event aims to reach vendors who are interested in providing goods or services to the County but have yet to conduct business transactions with us. On-site registration of interested businesses will occur every Wednesday through June 27, 2018. This effort is one of multiple outreach efforts to connect with the business community and inform vendors about the County’s procurement processes and business opportunities.

The County’s new Chief Procurement Officer, Miriam Singer, provides oversight of the procurement and contracting efforts to ensure we obtain the best value in the procurement of goods and services to meet our objectives; to accomplish that goal, our office is dedicated to invigorating outreach efforts to the vendor community.

“Working together with our internal clients and the business community, I look forward to contributing to the implementation of competitive procurement solutions to ensure that the taxpayers we serve will receive high quality services at the very best value,” Singer said.

Registered vendors are critical to facilitating open, competitive procurement processes for goods and services for the County; registering as a vendor is the first step to be eligible to compete for a County contract or bid. Businesses will be guided through the vendor registration process in-person by County staff and will have the opportunity to learn more about additional outreach events for vendors in the near future.
