County of Santa Clara Reopens Microbusiness Grant Application Portal
The County of Santa Clara and the Enterprise Foundation are again accepting applications for the Microbusiness Grant Program, which will grant $2,500 to qualified businesses affected by COVID-19. The application portal will be open until the funds are exhausted.
Microbusinesses must have made less than $50,000 in total revenue (not net) in each of the last three years to qualify for the $2,500 grant. The business also needs to be operating in 2022, had been open in 2019, been negatively impacted by COVID-19, and have less than five employees.
More than 500 grants were awarded during the first two phases of the process earlier this year and approximately 300 grants are still available.
“We’re proud to have been able to put this needed money in the hands of these 500 microbusinesses, and hope that we can deliver the rest of the funds to 300 more microbusinesses that need it most,” said Chief Operating Officer Miguel Márquez, J.D. “Food cart operators, landscapers, small farms and other microbusinesses are strongly encouraged to apply.”
The County Board of Supervisors accepted approximately $2.4 million from the California Microbusiness COVID-19 Relief Grant Program to aid very small businesses adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and the grants must be awarded by November 30, 2022.
Microbusinesses can apply at https://www.accesssbdc.org/mbcrg/. The application is available in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese.
