County of Santa Clara Update Regarding Shooting at Valley Transportation Authority: Medical Examiner-Coroner Identifies Additional Victim

Santa Clara County, CA  The Office of the Medical Examiner-Coroner has identified a ninth victim of today’s shooting at the Valley Transportation Authority Maintenance Yard, who died tonight at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center after being transported there from the scene this morning in critical condition. Notification has been made to the victim’s next of kin. The individual who died this evening was identified as:

  • Alex Ward Fritch, age 49
     

The identities of the other eight deceased victims, which were confirmed earlier this evening, are listed below:

  • Paul Delacruz Megia, age 42
  • Taptejdeep Singh, age 36
  • Adrian Balleza, age 29
  • Jose Dejesus Hernandez III, age 35
  • Timothy Michael Romo, age 49
  • Michael Joseph Rudometkin, age 40
  • Abdolvahab Alaghmandan, age 63
  • Lars Kepler Lane, age 63


The staff and leadership of the Medical Examiner-Coroner, Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, and the entire County of Santa Clara leadership want to reiterate their deepest condolences to the families and individuals impacted by this senseless tragedy.
